Update #3 - June 28

Minor changes throughout - scratches & adds. No time changes.

Update #2

No time changes, but the following events are now direct finals, no heats: WJ1x, WJ16 2x (NOT WJ2x as I mistakenly wrote in my email), M4, WIL2x, MI4x, W8+, M8+.

Also, MM2- has been moved to 30 minutes later, 12:06 Saturday.

Revised schedule now posted. Link below, but please read Update #1 first.

Update #1

This is the 3rd edition of the regatta schedule with several important changes:

Friday: Scratches in the WJ16 2x have reduced the field to 6 boats, so no heats, direct final on Saturday. ALL SUBSEQUENT RACES ADVANCED 12 MINUTES.

Saturday: Womens Master 8 - A lineup change in the Wilmington boat in the D race changed it to a C boat. The preceding C race is already 7 boats and now the subsequent race is a two boat C/D race. If any of the C boats in race #116 would like to move to the two boat C/D race, just let me know.

Sunday: MM1x B is now a 7 boat final, no heats. A scratch in the W8 has reduced the field to 6 boats, so no heats, direct final. ALL SUBSEQUENT RACES ADVANCED AS MUCH AS 24 MINUTES.

Womens Open 8 - CRI scratched due to a conflict with the WI8. If you are going to scratch in the W8,let us know and CRI can take the lane.

Minor changes throughout. Link to schedule at bottom of next section. But read it first. No other changes in race times anticipated.

The regatta schedule is now posted. Please read this first.

81 clubs, 223 races, 800 boats, 1,521 athletes. Down from 870 boats in 2006.

This is the second edition of the regatta schedule. Minor changes throughout. Please check back for updates as we receive scratches and late entries. We do not expect to move any race by more than 15 minutes.

There are several events with 7 boats, two heats with 4 boats in one heat and 3 boats in the other heat. We will progress 6 boats to the final: 3 from the first heat, 2 from the second heat and the fastest remaining crew.

Mens Masters 1x B - A scratch has reduced the field to 7. If no late entries by Wednesday, we'll make it a 7 boat final, no heats.

  • Parking

  • Late entry procedures

  • Masters lineup change procedures

  • How accurate are masters in reporting their dates of birth? Not very, apparently.

  • Results will be posted to our web site continuously and automatically after each race.

No need to row the regatta. Our software simulates every race. Here are the results:

  • Volunteers - We need more volunteers. If you have a few hours between races, come to the regatta HQ tent at the Canoe Club and offer your services. Masters don't race on Friday so should be able to help the regatta. Juniors don't race on Sunday so should be able to assist, too. It's fun!

  • Registration - There is no registration, but you are welcome to check in with us at the regatta HQ tent at the Canoe Club.

  • Weigh-ins will be held from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday and 6:30 to 10:00 on Saturday and Sunday at the Canoe Club. Competitors must weigh in each day they compete. Only one weigh-in per day is required. Coxswains do not weigh in.

  • Mens open single - will have a petite final. There are 12 boats entered. I set it up with 3 heats, thinking guys racing at Nationals may have missed the deadline. One guy just scratched (Baldytchev). If 12 or fewer later this week, we'll redraw to 2 heats.
  • Masters, novice singles and parent/child races are 1000 meters.
  • Octuple race will be age handicapped. You must notify me if you change your line-up, with names and dates of birth.
  • We've added a Junior Octuple race. The race is late Saturday afternoon. We will accept late entries. Malta Boat Club has offered a trophy. Girls and mixed crews welcome. Entry deadline June 29.

  • The safest and fairest way to run 223 races in July heat is to keep the regatta on schedule. We will be ruthless in starting races on time and will not hold races for any reason. Races will not be delayed for crews that are late to the line for any reason. Crews should be in their lanes and, for 2000 meter races, locked onto the stake boat two minutes before the start of their race.

  • Bow numbers - It's the only way we can tell who you are as you cross the finish line. Each crew must supply its own bow numbers. Bow numbers will not be provided; however, bow numbers will be available for sale at the Regatta Headquarters tent at the Canoe Club, $12 for a set of 6.
