BelAir Networks is providing a powerful, wide-area wireless broadband network to allow spectators and participants to track the progress and results of the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the country's oldest and largest high school regatta.

BelAir will turn the entire course for the regatta into a Wi-Fi hot zone for fans and racers with five of its industry-leading BelAir200 Wireless Multi-service Switch-Routers. The hot zone coverage area includes the start and finish lines, the official's command tent, race results command tent, Athlete's Village, the food and vendor's area, and the grandstands. The race follows a 1500 meter course along the Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For the first time in the history of the regattas, attendees will be able to download race results in real-time, follow races over Internet video, or even send e-mail updates to friends and family around the world with their Wi-Fi enabled laptops or PDAs. The grand ballroom of Edward T. Stotesbury's home in suburban Philadelphia. He was once one of the wealthiest men in America. Check out Whitemarsh Hall for a fascinating history of the man who donated the Stotesbury Cup and the mansion he built.

Whitemarsh Hall required a staff of 150 and in 1929, $1 million for annual upkeep. As long as someone was willing to finance the house and gardens, Whitemarsh Hall was beautiful and it’s future was secure. But Edward T. Stotesbury dies at the age of 89 in 1938 and Mrs. Stotesbury soon closed the house and moved to Palm Beech, Florida. A long decline set in.
