Vesper Varsity Technical Development Camp

Focused five-day sessions designed for high-school athletes ready to take their technique on the water to the next level. Expert coaching by camp director Bruce Konopka, max 16 athletes per session. On-water, erg and video sessions to maximize benefits. Each camp will also include lunchtime roundtables on rowing and college-related topics. 601 Washington Street Sculling Camp.

Craig Hoffman and Staff will be holding a Sculling Camp at 601 Washington Street, Conshohocken, PA for NEW and EXPERIENCED rowers. Rowers must be going into 7th grade or older. The camp is designed to teach and advance each rower’s skills in three, two week sessions.

The three, two week sessions are as follows:

Each rower is required to attend two of the three sessions. Three sessions is highly recommended. Practice time will be in the afternoon with a detailed schedule yet to be determined (morning or afternoon sessions with sufficient demand). Practice will consist of technical and physical training. The use of video tape and land demonstration will be used.

Campers will have the opportunity to race at two regattas during the six weeks.

Each rower will be required to have waivers signed, indicating they are healthy to train and have the ability to swim. Waivers are due prior to camp.

Radnor Girls Crew Club (RGCC) Rowing Camp

The RGCC Rowing Camp is a “learn to row” program that introduces the sport of rowing to girls ages 12-16. The goal is to provide an opportunity for students who are interested in learn to row in a non-competitive environment. The sessions teach the mechanics of how to row with one oar (sweep rowing) which can be applied to two oared rowing (sculling). The program is designed to give each rower time to develop and improve rowing skills in a relaxed atmosphere. The campers will progress quickly from learning technique on the rowing machines to application on the water. No prior rowing experience is needed.

Location, Schedule, and Costs

Location: Whitemarsh Boat Club in Conshohocken. Directions on the RGCC website
Schedule: July 13 -23 (week one Monday-Friday, week two, Monday-Thursday)
Time: The RGCC Camp is a Day Camp only with practices scheduled between 1:30 and 4:30. Daily drop off is 1:00 pm and pick-up by 5:00 pm.
Cost: Session total is $500.00 due by July 1st. Reservations will be processed in the order they are received.

PNRA-Resolute Racing Camp - July 12 - 17 and July 19 - 24, 2009 at the US Olympic Training Site in Princeton Junction, NJ. It is open to experienced (minimum one season) rowers only. During the program, campers will work with top college coaches and US National Team athletes on their rowing technique as well as training and racing skills. Instruction and coaching will be geared to the experience level and talents of each camper. The camp includes two daily practices on the water as well as seminars from US National Team Athletes. Penn Summer Rowing Camp

Open to high school aged boys and girls who are interested in refining rowing skills. We offering two four week sessions four nights a week. This is a great way to stay in shape while working on technique. We will row out of the Penn Boathouse, #11 Kelly Drive, Philadelphia.

Smoky Mountain Rowing Center is offering 5 sessions of summer camp in Tennessee. There are several Beginner and Advanced sessions scheduled for rowers ages 13 and up. This is a great opportunity to keep rowing in mind over the summer, stay in shape, improve technique, and have some fun! The emphasis of the 2008 Hawks Rowing Camp is the personal development of the whole athlete in preparation for the collegiate rowing experience. We have designed our camp to enhance and develop all aspects of the sport for girls who intend to row at the varsity high school and college level. We limit our number of campers to maximize coaching and teaching.

We will teach techniques to use our bodies more efficiently on the water, in the weight room, and on the erg. These techniques will translate to faster times on the water, better erg times and injury prevention.

By popular demand we are happy to offer camp instruction to beginners with no or very little previous rowing experience. We limit beginners space to 10 so sign up fast.

Fairmount Park Rowing Camp

Have you ever dreamed of rowing on the Schuylkill? Are you interested in learning to row? Well, here is the great opportunity for local teenagers to do just that. There is no fee and participants must be between the ages of 13 and 17.

The Rowing Camp will have three two-week sessions beginning on Monday, July 7, 2008. During each session, young Philadelphians will be taught the basics of the sport. Camp is located at Lloyd Hall on historic Boathouse Row. Camp hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Campers must bring their own lunch.

You must be able to swim and pass a swimming test on the first day of camp. You must be physically fit and able to participate in running and exercise drills. Finally, you must participate in other camp activities when not on the river.

Hawk Rowing Camp

The Hawk Rowing Camp is a “learn to row” program that introduces the Olympic Sport of rowing to boys and girls ages 12 to 16. The goal is to provide opportunities for students interested in learning about rowing in a non-competitive environment. The sessions teach individuals the mechanics of how to row with one oar (sweep rowing) which can also be applied to two oared rowing (sculling). The program is designed to give each camper time to develop and improve rowing skills in a relaxed atmosphere. The students will gain an appreciation for the technical aspects of the sport, as well as the teamwork involved in moving eight oared rowing shells. Vesper Technical Development Camp

The Varsity Technical Development Camp, directed by former Vesper head coach Jim Glavin, is a high level camp for experienced high school level oarsmen and oarswomen who currently are, or aspire to be, successful varsity rowers. The five day, intensive technical program will row out of the world-famous Vesper Boat Club on the historic Boathouse Row on the Schuylkill River.

The goal is to provide an opportunity for students who are interested in learning about rowing in a non-competitive environment. The sessions teach the mechanics of how to row with one oar (sweep rowing) which can be applied to two oared rowing (sculling). The program is designed to give each rower time to develop and improve rowing skills in a relaxed atmosphere. The MSJA/RGCC Camp will be located at the Whitemarsh Boat Club in Conshohocken. There will be two separate sessions, one in June and one in July. The MSJA/RGCC Camp is a day Camp only with practices scheduled between 1:30 and 4:30. Daily drop off is 1:00 pm and pick-up by 5:00 pm.

A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required by May 25th in order to reserve a place in these sessions. Reservations will be processed in the order they are received. The camp will be limited by availability of equipment and coaching. Projected camp size will be 50 rowers with an 8 to 1 ratio of rowers to coach. Session total is $500.00 due by June 10th.

Essex Rowing Club Junior Sculling Development Camp
Methuen, Massachusetts

Essex Rowing's Junior Sculling Development Camp is a summer-long, residential camp for boys, born in 1990 or later, who want to train and compete at the highest levels of summer rowing. Participants will train and race in quads, doubles, and singles, with multiple daily practices and an emphasis on selecting the fastest team boats but also on developing each rower to his full potential. Requirements for participation are at least one season of competitive sculling and 6:50 2k or better erg score.

UM Summer Rowing Camp: The Fundamentals of Rowing (Non-Race Intensive)

An inexpensive option for those who want to get some valuable water time in a relaxed and fun environment. No experience necessary for this camp which will focus on the fundamentals of rowing, proper technique, and general physical fitness. Participants must be able to swim and will be broken up into categories based on ability.

CRC Collegiate Competitive Rowing

This summer Cooper Rowing Club will have a collegiate, competitive rowing team on the Cooper River in Camden County, New Jersey , for college rowers who want to compete in summer regattas.
